About Lhegend
I am Lhegend. A husband to a woman who is the best thing that has ever happened to me, and a father to 3 beautiful and smart children who keep us on our toes.
We moved from New Jersey to Florida in 2014 for a job I was recruited for. But I think the universe just used that as its vehicle to get us down here, where we apparently belong. My wife and I are New Yorkers. She from Queens, and I from The Bronx. And although we miss family and certain things from New York, we love living here.
For most of my life I have been a writer/poet/storyteller. I started writing stories and poetry as a teenager. It's how I was able to initially talk to girls. 😊 For some time in my adult years I was even a performing poet in New York, and produced and directed a few poetry shows. The universe has been preparing me for decades to take your love story and craft the telling of it in a way that shows the poetry of the love you have for each other, and how the union we are witnessing on your wedding day came to be.
Shortly after moving to Florida, one of my sisters asked me to preside over her wedding. I was honored... And at the same time terrified of the responsibility. This is going to be one of the most memorable days in her life, and I have to do everything in my power to make sure that it is a beautiful memory. After researching online, I put together a script for the ceremony. The mirror was my audience for many practices, just as it was before a poetry performance. We flew up to New York, and after the ceremony our family and the rest of the guests remarked how wonderful the ceremony was. Honestly, I didn’t absorb any of the accolades because I know family wouldn't tell the the guy who just performed his sister’s wedding anything but “good job”? 😊
After returning to Florida, I was telling a coworker about the wedding. She excitedly explained that she is getting married in a few months and “Would you do our wedding?” After looking at her like she was crazy and reminding her that I have only done one wedding, she still wanted me to do it. Okay.🤷♂️
I put a script together after meeting with her and her fiancé. Their wedding, my very first in Florida, was at Sanibel Harbor Marriott. After the ceremony, they and their guests told me how wonderful the ceremony was. On my drive home from that wedding, I let out an audible “ohhhhhhhh”, as I came to the realization of what the universe was trying to tell me.
Since, over 200 couples have entrusted me with their day, and have been thankful that they did. I love what I do, and because I do, I am always looking for ways to improve the ceremony. I consider myself lucky to have a such a pivotal role in one of the most memorable chapters in your love story. And I take the responsibility as seriously as I took it when my sister asked me to marry her and my brother-in-law.
Let’s set up a pressure-free consultation so I can tell your love story.
